At Danliris, our corporate heritage forms an important part of our journey in Indonesia’s textile and garment industry. Beginning as a home-based business established by the Tjokrosaputro family in the 1920s, Danliris became known for the quality of its batik products and its commitment to integrity in business practices.

The next generation, Mr. Handoko and Mr. Handiman Tjokrosaputro, expanded the business by entering textile manufacturing through the establishment of a weaving division in 1974. This strategic move into the textile sector led to a change in the company’s name to better reflect its vision and business values. The name Danliris, formally PT Dan Liris, was subsequently adopted as the company’s new identity.
Derived from the Javanese term “udan liris,” meaning drizzle, the name Danliris represents a philosophy of sustainable growth—built through a commitment to the welfare and development of employees, shareholders, and the surrounding community, while continuously maintaining and improving service quality. In line with this vision, the company expanded its operations to include spinning, finishing, and printing processes, and commenced garment production in 1976.
Today, Danliris is led by the third generation of the Tjokrosaputro family, with Mrs. Michelle Tjokrosaputro serving as Chief Executive Officer. Her leadership is supported by the strategic guidance of Mrs. I. P. Elizabeth Sindoro, the wife of the late Mr. Handiman Tjokrosaputro. Backed by more than 5,000 employees, Danliris consistently upholds its commitment to quality, integrity, and responsible business practices.
Under Mrs. Michelle’s leadership, Danliris fosters a collaborative, customer-centric culture, with a strong focus on delivering end-to-end solutions and developing products tailored to the specific needs of each business partner. The company’s continued growth is reflected in its strong portfolio of leading local and international brands, as well as its sustained expansion across domestic and global markets.
